Storytelling Class
GreenMan Theatre will be offering a class in Storytelling starting in early August. This will be a three-session class that will then transition into a show called Spooky Stories and Songs of the Season, which will happen in October. Students interested in the class do not have to participate in the show in October. The Storytelling Class will be Saturdays August 3, 10 and 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There is a class fee, with a discount for members. The cost will be posted on this website closer to the class date. (**If you are interested, but will be out of town for one of the sessions, makeup sessions can be arranged.**) In the class, we will cover how to tell a variety of story types: 1.Traditional folk tales 2. Literary tales 3. Personal Stories 4. Urban Legends. We will focus on "spooky stories," because after the class is over, interested participants will transition into rehearsals which will become the performance of Spooky Stories and Songs of the Season, which will be presented Oct. 19th and 20th at GreenMan Theatre, which is located in the First United Methodist Church in Elmhurst, 232 York Rd. Students do not have to perform in the show to attend the class. The Director reserves the right to decide if each student is ready to perform. Interested participants can reserve a spot, or ask questions at thomdav@comcast.net. |
