Storytelling Class
August 6, 13, 27, 2023
Learn the art of Storytelling with GreenMan Theatre!
GreenMan will be offering a 3 session class in the art of storytelling starting August 6. The class will transition into a show called "Spooky Stories and Songs of the Season" at the end of the classroom work. Performances of "Spooky Stories" will be October 8-9. Performances of "Spooky Stories" may be held outdoors or online, depending on best safety measures this fall. Additional performance opportunities may be available. Students do not have to perform in the show to participate in the class; the director reserves the right to decide if each student is ready to perform.
The class meets for 3 Saturdays in August, the 6th, 13th, and 27th, starting at 10:30 am for a two hour session each class. Makeup sessions may be scheduled due to student schedule conflicts. Cost is only $25 for GreenMan members and $30 for non-members.
Beginners and experienced tellers are welcome. A wide variety of story types will be explored, including traditional folk-tales, literary tales, personal stories, and urban legends.
For more information and to register for the class, please contact Carolyn Thomas-Davidoff at thomdav@comcast.net or call GreenMan at 630-464-2646. If you are a returning GreenMan Storyteller contact Carolyn by email: thomdav@comcast.net about the reduced fee structure for returning tellers and number of classes required.
