Auditions - Graveside Stories Oakbrook

Auditions will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2026, and at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at St. Peters United Church of Christ, 125 W. Church St., Elmhurst.


** Note **  parking on Tuesday aug 11th at First United Methodist Church (next door), enter St Peter's UCC at church street- they're paving the regular lot.  

On performance days, tours will walk through Bronswood Cemetery, stopping at characters’ graves to hear their stories. The “Graveyard Stories” Historic Cemetery Walks are presented in conjunction with the Oak Brook Historical Society. This year’s “Graveyard Stories” will be themed around the founders of Oak Brook. The walks will be presented on Sat., October 24, and Sun., October 25, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. at Bronswood Cemetery, 3706 Frederick Dr., Oak Brook.


GreenMan Theatre is looking for both men and women to audition;

• currently, there are roles for eight men and three women.
• Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

• Walk-up audition slots are also available; however, auditioners should arrive no later than 3pm on Sunday Aug 9 and 8pm on Tuesday Aug 11.

Rehearsals will be in person only. Actors will need to be available for “tech” dates as well as all performance dates. (Additional performance dates and locations are also being sought and will be announced soon.)


ROLES

• Elaine Carzoli: Horticulturist/Greenhouse Caretaker for Bronswood Cemetery for over 20 years.
• Leon Elliston: Founder of Elliston Funeral Home, now Sullivan Funeral Home
• Lloyd G. Fuller: Founder of Fuller Service Station/Car Wash
• Fred M. Gale: Civil War Veteran. Served in the 13th VT Infantry - famous for its pivotal role in the Battle of Gettysburg.
• Marvin Kuhn: 1st Mail carrier for Oak Brook/Hinsdale
• Thomas Nelson: Civil War Veteran. Served in the Private Company, 18th Infantry Regiment (“Vanguards”).
• Edward Ripley: 1st President of Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroads
• Rosilyn Sementa: One of the founders of the Oak Brook Women’s Club and Oak Brook Little League
• Joyce Skoog: Hinsdale’s 1st Female Village President
• H.A. Stocker: Founder of Stocker Hinge Manufacturing
• Earle E. Norman: Descendant of William the Conqueror (1620)

Graveside Stories will be directed by Marilyn Connolly and Debbie Proska and produced by Becca Easley.
